Suggested itinerary
- Arrive in Monterosso early. Take time to explore the beach and the charming town. this is the only town with a traditional beach.
- You can take the train or hike the trail to Vernazza. If you are up for the walk and the weather is good, the hike is an amazing experience.
- Vernazza. If you didn't hike to the town you should take the time to do the short hike to the point that overlooks the city and the ocean. You won't be disappointed.
- Lunch in Vernazza - If you can swing it, Ristorante Belforte is great. They have fresh seafood dishes & pasta, plus cliffside tables with sea views.
If possible, stay overnight in one of the five towns. It is the best way to experience their quiet charm after many of the day-trippers have left. Each town is incredibly picturesque, and you can hike from Vernazza toward Corniglia or continue along the trails toward Manarola.
